You’ve started your business, chosen our invoicing application, and you’re ready to work. However, you currently don’t have a Fiscalization 1.0 certificate.
Sounds like another complicated bureaucratic step? Don’t worry! Every entrepreneur in Croatia who charges invoices in cash or by card must report that revenue to the Tax Administration, and this is done precisely through this certificate. In this guide, we’ll show you how to obtain a Fiscalization 1.0 certificate without stress, wandering, or wasting time.
What is a fiscalization certificate anyway?
Put simply — it’s your digital ID card for the Tax Administration.
It’s a small digital file (usually ending in .p12 or .pfx) that allows our application to securely notify the Tax Administration on your behalf: “An invoice for this amount has been issued.” Without this certificate, you won’t be able to get the well-known JIR and ZKI codes on your invoices, meaning your invoices won’t be legally valid.
Note: Certificates in Croatia are issued exclusively by FINA (Financial Agency).
How to get the certificate?
You can complete the issuance process online (if you already have a FINA e-card, token, or high-level access to e-Građani) or by visiting a branch office in person.
Visit FINA’s official website via the link below, where every detail is explained step by step and where you can download the necessary documentation for issuance:
After FINA processes your request, you will download your certificate file, and you will receive the password via SMS.
How to upload the certificate in our eInvoice application?
Now that you have the certificate (a file on your computer) and the password (from SMS), the process takes less than a minute:
- Log in to our application
- Create your first B2C invoice
- Click the “Upload certificate” button and select your .p12 file from your computer.
- Enter the password you received via SMS.
- Click “Verify certificate and continue“
That’s it! Your cash register is now successfully connected to the Tax Administration and you are fully ready for legal invoice issuance. Learn more about our eInvoice application
